Ian Steel recently graduated from Royal Holloway College, University of London with an MSci in Geosciences. He has worked for Earthmoves Ltd. for two years. He has worked on producing technical reports and digital atlases.

During his university career he has undertaken fieldwork in Macedonia (Mineral Exploration), Skye (Field mapping), and Tenerife, Spain.
