The South Atlantic Digital Atlas contains all the public domain information relevant to exploration along the West African and South American Atlantic margins in Arcview 9.3. All objects are linked to a table with information such as bibliographic reference or age attached.   All sections and wells are linked to Acrobat pdf files. Maps were constructed by importing scanned tiff images and georeferencing them in Arcview, original georeferenced scanned maps can be provided if required.

A movie has been constructed showing the opening of the South Atlantic which focusses on the period 140 Ma to 100 Ma, but runs right through to present day.   The starting position of the continents at 140 ma, has been calculated by restoring the continental edge back to a pre-extension position by balancing published crustal scale sections which show the Moho. The following events were used in the reconstruction.
